NEET-UG minimum age
For NEET-UG you have to be at least 17 years old as on 31 December of the admission year. For the 2026 cycle, that means you should be born on or before 31 December 2009. If you turn 17 only after that date, you become eligible from the next cycle, and the tool tells you which one.
NEET-UG maximum age
There is no upper age limit for NEET-UG. The old upper limit was removed by the National Medical Commission on 9 March 2022, so candidates of any age can apply as long as they meet the minimum age and the Class 12 requirement. There is also no limit on how many times you can attempt it.
NEET age relaxation and category rules
Since NEET has only a minimum age and no upper limit, there is no category-wise age relaxation. The rule, 17 as on 31 December, is exactly the same for General, OBC, SC, ST and PwD candidates, and the same for girls and boys.
JEE age limit and Class 12 year rule
JEE Main and JEE Advanced have no age limit. What matters there is your Class 12 passing year, not your age. For a given exam year, you qualify if you passed Class 12 in one of the two years before, or you are appearing in the exam year itself.
